About Me

We are OCDC and we are establishing a Farm to School program. Come learn about F2S and how it works on a weekly basis in our Head Start centers all over Oregon. Find curriculum ideas, read about Organic Gardening successes and failures, get tips, make suggestions, and follow us as we grow.

  1. Above. Our rich soil is full of organic compost and rice hulls. They break down slowly constantly adding to tilth and making plants nutrient rich. Children at the garden turn soil to aerate and amend the beds for the winter rains. Julian, one fabulous volunteer takes a minute to show us all how cool he is...sweet transition glasses huh? A hole to some and a ground pot to others. We are creating mini ecosystems in the ground that will be great for pumpkins, squashes, and sunflowers. These pots will also create a rich passageway for all our microbial and soil dwelling amigos. They turn more soil faster than any back hoe.
